EPISODE 84 · October 16, 2026
Project 2025: Educational Reform or Racism in Disguise?
Why does the Heritage Foundation want to eliminate the Department of Education? Is it really about reducing bureaucracy, or is there a much bigger agenda? In Episode 3 of our Project 2025 investigation, Fiercely Independent examines a proposal that could fundamentally change who receives educational support, how federal taxpayer dollars are spent, and which children are left behind. We examine: The proposal to abolish the Department of Education and shift federal authority elsewhere. The potential consequences for children with disabilities and families fighting discrimination. Plans to replace federal education funding programs with block grants and expand school choice. The proposal to eliminate Head Start, which provides critical services to low-income children and families. Actions already underway within the Trump administration, and why only Congress can completely abolish the department. The central question: Who benefits, and who pays the price? For wealthy families with access to quality schools and private resources, the consequences may be minimal. But for low-income families, minority communities, and children with special needs, the stakes could be enormous. When educational opportunity increasingly depends on your income, neighborhood, or skin color, we have to ask whether this is education reform, or something far more troubling. Watch Episode 3 of our continuing investigation into Project 2025. Stay Fierce. Stay Independent.
